FAQ

Q1. I have never heard of e-photoframes. How do I know that my debit / credit card will be processed safely and my order will be delivered?

A. Payment processing and delivery is outsourced to a reputable company called Internet Logistics (www.internetlogistics.com). This organisation specializes in brand management and includes many famous brands in its portfolio including Disney and the World Wild Life fund.

Q2. The testimonial page is very convincing. You appear to have many satisfied customers. How do I know these are genuine reviews?

A. All client testimonials are genuine. Some of the reviews are taken from our Amazon shop, where you can view them on-line. Our current company rating on Amazon is 5/5. If you are still not convinced we would be happy to facilitate contact with any of the testimonial submitters (providing they are happy to do so)

Q3. Is there anywhere else I can buy e-photoframe products?

A. Our full range of products is available at our Amazon shop. By simply clicking on this link www.amazon.co.uk and searching on e-photoframes you will be taken to our online store. Most of our products are designed by us or are exclusively distributed by e-photoframes in the UK.

Trees

Q4. How is the tree planting funded?

A. The full cost of the tree planting is funded by a mark-up on each frame equivalent to the cost of planting a single tree. The cost is passed on to the customer at the wholesale rate (i.e. e-photoframes does not pass on a retail mark-up to the customer).

Q5. How can e-photoframes afford to plant a tree out of profits from a relatively low cost product?

A. The organizations assisting with the project rely largely on volunteers, keeping labour costs to a minimum. In addition, the current projects are based in a developing country where saplings and seedlings are relatively inexpensive.

Q6. So if I buy a frame, I am also buying a tree. Is this like buying a carbon credit?

A.It is very common for organisations to plant trees that are then sold to customers as carbon offsets. A common example would be the purchase of an offset to neutralize the environmental impact of a flight. This practice is controversial for many reasons:

a. The timing of the offset benefit is different to the event that is being offset (trees absorb carbon over the course of their life; carbon emissions from an aero plane are almost instant). Companies selling offsets often ignore this timing difference.

b. It is very difficult to measure how much carbon any given tree will absorb over its lifecycle. Also, there is no guarantee that the tree will survive.

c. There is a growing body of evidence that suggests that tree planting in temperate regions (like the UK) might not have a significant impact on the net absorption of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

d. In some cases, trees being sold as carbon offsets would have been planted anyway.

However, as an estimate, by buying a picture frame from us will offset between 0.1% and 0.3% of your annual carbon footprint for the duration that the tree lives (well beyond most of our lives). In other words, between 330 and 1000 picture frames would offset your carbon footprint for your whole life.

Q7. What does it mean being carbon zero?

A. e-photoframes has been certified by CO2balance (an award winning organisation with an enviable reputation in the field of carbon emission reduction) as being carbon zero. This means we have offset all carbon emissions generated from company operations (such as the shipment of frames to the UK)

Q8. How can you prove the trees are planted?

A. Each time 10,000 trees have been planted an independent organisation will audit the work and produce a report. This will be posted on the website. Where we have used reputable organizations such as PATT, we will publish the requisite order information on our site too.
